Period Talk Uganda partnered with the Rotary Club of Kasangati during Rotary Family Health Day at Namulonge Health Centre III, contributing menstrual health education to a comprehensive community health outreach that brought together a range of essential healthcare services under one initiative.
The event provided community members with access to services including antenatal care, immunisation, deworming, cervical cancer screening, mental health support, blood donation and general health education. Within this broader health programme, Period Talk Uganda led sessions on menstrual hygiene, equipping participants with accurate information on menstrual health, hygiene management and the importance of breaking stigma surrounding menstruation.
By integrating menstrual health into a wider community health platform, the partnership reinforced the importance of recognising menstruation as an essential public health issue rather than an isolated topic. The collaboration also demonstrated the value of multi-sector partnerships in expanding access to health information and ensuring menstrual health remains part of broader conversations on community wellbeing.
