ABOUT US

Our Journey: A Story of Growth

Period Talk Uganda was founded on the belief that conversations have the power to create change.

Recognising that menstruation remained surrounded by silence, misinformation and stigma, we set out to create safe spaces where girls, women and communities could learn, ask questions and share experiences without shame. What began as a platform for open dialogue has grown into a nationally recognised organisation advancing menstrual equity through education, advocacy, research and community engagement.

As our understanding of community needs evolved, so did our work. We expanded beyond awareness campaigns to develop programmes that promote sustainable menstrual solutions, strengthen community participation, generate evidence through research and advocate for systems that ensure menstrual health is accessible and inclusive.

Today, Period Talk Uganda works across diverse communities in Uganda, partnering with schools, institutions, community leaders and organisations to create practical, locally driven solutions that address the realities of menstruation while empowering communities to lead lasting change.
