Period Talk Uganda partnered with Seasons of Love to launch the Cycles of Love donation drive in support of female patients and their caregivers at Mulago’s JCRC Children’s Cancer Ward.

The campaign responded to the menstrual health challenges experienced by girls and women receiving cancer treatment, as well as the caregivers supporting them. Recognising that both groups often face barriers to accessing essential menstrual products, the initiative sought to ensure they could manage menstruation safely, comfortably and with dignity throughout their treatment journey.

The outreach combined menstrual health and hygiene education with the distribution of essential menstrual hygiene supplies, including reusable menstrual pads, underwear and soap. By providing both practical support and accurate menstrual health information, the initiative empowered participants with knowledge while addressing their immediate menstrual health needs.

More than a donation drive, Cycles of Love highlighted the importance of ensuring that menstrual health support extends to everyone affected by prolonged hospital care. Through collaboration and community generosity, Period Talk Uganda and Seasons of Love reaffirmed that menstrual dignity is an essential part of health, wellbeing and compassionate care.
